Monitoring - Canvas access has been restored and classes may resume normal use of the platform. We will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with the vendor regarding the ongoing security incident.

Update - Due to a nationwide security incident involving Canvas that is affecting multiple institutions, Canvas is currently unavailable. The issue originates with the vendor and is not the result of an issue within MIT’s local systems.
We are actively monitoring updates and will share additional information as it becomes available.

Investigating - We are aware of a nationwide security incident involving Canvas and are actively monitoring updates from Instructure while assessing any potential impact to our environment.

This incident originates with the vendor and is affecting multiple institutions; it is not the result of an issue within our local systems.

Canvas remains available and operational for users. We are continuing to review information from the vendor and will share updates as more details become available, including any recommended actions or guidance.

Scheduled - The SAP production environment will be unavailable on Sunday, May 17 2026, between 01:45am and 5:45am. During this service outage, critical security patches will be applied to the SAP system’s application servers. Please note that, while this work is taking place, SAP, B2P, Facilities/Work-Manager and Inventory-Manager functionality, GAP, MIT Warehouse SAP data, along with all Atlas SAP activity (including time sheet entry/approval, training, requisitioning, journal vouchers, credit card verification, events planning, and service requests) will be unavailable.
