IS&T will be re-routing traffic through a previously upgraded set of routers to test/verify a fix to a prior issue encountered post-upgrade.
No outages are expected if the fix resolves the previously encountered issue, but some connections through the campus firewalls may still need to be re-established. Posted on

Due to scheduled network maintenance, MITnet BMS network — will be intermittently unavailable in Building 1 on Tuesday 1/20/26, between 6:30am and 9:00am
Brief isolated outages will occur throughout the window as upgrades are performed on each switch.

The Spectrum Protect server backup-L will undergo maintenance. If all goes well, the work will take around 2 hours. During the outage IS&T will upgrade the Spectrum Protect server software. Please note that during the upgrade backups to and restores from backup-L will be unavailable. This work will not affect other Spectrum Protect servers, or desktop backups made via Crashplan.

IS&T will be migrating multiple OC11 data-center subnets to a more advanced pair of routers. Brief temporary outages are expected as each subnet is migrated from the old router pair to the new.
